Email Clients Setup Guide

General Client Settings

Settings to configure IMAP or POP for the use of an email client and mobile device application with AUA Google Mail:

Username your full email address ([email protected] / @edu.aua.am / @alumni.aua.am)
Incoming Mail Server (IMAP, POP)
IMAP Recommended
imap.gmail.com (for IMAP) pop.gmail.com (for POP) 
If you are not sure what to use, IMAP is recommended.
Security type/port (Incoming) SSL / 993 (IMAP) or SSL / 995 (POP)
Email Address (account name) your full email address ([email protected] / @edu.aua.am / @alumni.aua.am)
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com
Outgoing mail authentication Use Password Authentication / Require sign-in
Security type/port (Outgoing) SSL / 465 or 587

POP USERS: Messages in Spam and Trash aren’t downloaded unless you move them to your Inbox or All Mail. ICTS recommends checking your AUA Google Web Mail on  regular basis to review messages that have been moved into the Spam folder.

IMAP USERS: Make sure that IMAP is enabled in your main AUA Google Web Mail settings.

Below is a list of email clients and mobile devices you can synchronize with your AUA Google email account. Click the name of your email client or mobile device to see instructions for setting it up to work with AUA Google Mail.

If your client or device isn’t listed here, we suggest that you try out the general client settings listed above.
