The University uses VoIP telephony. Your IP phone is linked to your PC and has extended functionality, such as Caller ID, Voicemail, Directory search, Conference Brigde, etc.

 

How to search person’s phone extension from IP phone handset?

From your IP Phone’s menu select “Directory“, then “AUA Directory” or “LDAP” (depends on phone model you have) and start to enter person’s first or last name. You will see results matching search criteria.
Select required line from found records using UP and DOWN keys on handset and press “Send” button or # key to make call.

 

How to make external calls?

Just dial the number and press “Send” button or # key to make call. Examples of numbers:

1nn – to make call to free public services numbers, e.g. Fire service, Police, Ambulance, etc.
Operator prefix + Phone number – to make call to Armenia mobile subscribers, e.g. 091 123456
010 + Phone number – to make call to Yerevan Beeline landline subscribers, e.g. 010 123456
060 + Phone number – to make call to Armenia not-geographic landline subscribers e.g. 060 123456
0 + Region code + Phone number – to make call to Armenia regions, e.g. 0 312 12345
00 + Country code + City code + Phone number – to make call outside Armenia, e.g. 001 646 2574500

 

How others can make call on my AUA phone number?

060 612nnn – for domestic calls from any location in Armenia (Yerevan, other cities)
+374 60 612nnn – for international calls from outside Armenia,

where 2nnn is your phone extension.

If caller within Armenia cannot make call to 060 612nnn numbers, the reason could be the “outgoing calls barring” applied to caller telephone line. Caller should contact his telephony provider for further assistance.

 

How do I know if I have new voicemail?

IP phone users – You will see that indicator located on IP phone top right side is blinking red
Ordinary phone users – When pick up the phone you will hear several frequent beeps before hearing normal dial tone

 

How can I check my voicemail?

Pickup the phone, dial *2# and enter voicemail password when prompted. Your initial password is the same as your phone extension number. Follow IVR (Interactive Voice Response) instructions to check voicemail, change voicemail initial password, etc.

 

How can I pickup other peoples extensions from my phone?

Pickup the phone and dial *4#. Raise a Service Request mentioning which extensions you should be able to pickup.

 

How to transfer call to another number?

IP phone users – While answering the call press “Transfer” key, then dial destination number and hang up your handset
Ordinary phone users – While answering the call press *3 (you will hear “transfer” word), then dial destination number and hang up your handset

 

How do I forward my phone to another internal or external number?

IP phone users
From phone LCD display select Menu->Features->Call Forward
There are 3 options under Call Forward menu, that you may wish to use:

  • Always Forward
  • Busy Forward
  • No Answer Forward

Use RIGHT and LEFT keys on handset to set desired forwarding condition status to “Enable”, then press DOWN key to move to “Forward to:” field and enter destination phone number. After that press “Save” key to confirm changes.

Ordinary phone users
To enable “Always Forward” – Pickup the phone, dial *71#
To enable “Forward If Busy” – Pickup the phone, dial *72#
To enable “Forward If No Answer” – Pickup the phone, dial *73#

You need to choose destination of forwarding – to your personal voicemail or to alternative number.
To enable “Forward to voicemail” – Pickup the phone, dial *074#
To enable “Forward to number” – Pickup the phone, dial *74 + Phone Number# (e.g. *74 2799#
or *74 096 324040#)

 

How do I disable call forwarding on my phone?

IP phone users
From phone LCD display select Menu->Features->Call Forward
There are 3 options under Call Forward menu, that you may wish to use:

  • Always Forward
  • Busy Forward
  • No Answer Forward

Use RIGHT and LEFT keys on handset to set desired forwarding condition status to “Disable”. After that press “Save” key to confirm changes.

Ordinary phone users
To reset all call forwarding settings to Defaults – Pickup the phone, dial *70#
When reset to defaults. The call forwarding settings will be configured as follows:
“Always Forward” – Disabled
“Forward to voicemail If Busy” – Enabled
“Forward to voicemail If No Answer” – Enabled

To disable “Always Forward” – Pickup the phone, dial *071#
To disable “Forward If Busy” – Pickup the phone, dial *072#
To disable “Forward If No Answer” – Pickup the phone, dial *073#

 

How can I connect another person to active phone call?

You can create a conference with 3 parties (including yourself) from your IP phone. You can create a conference between an active call and a call on hold by pressing the “Conference” key.

Can I setup conference bridge with internal / external participants?

University PBX supports up to 10 “virtual” meeting rooms. Maximum number of simultaneous participants (in all 10 rooms) is limited to number of simultaneous calls supported b PBX, which is 80.
There is a dedicated phone number which invited participants need to dial in order to select booked meeting room and join the conference. Access to meeting rooms are protected with PIN code that must be to be provided to conference participants along with meeting room ID.

My phone number / extension has been changed. Can I amend it in PBX phone directory?

You can amend your phone, extension as well as room number via Self Update page*.

Self Update page can be accessed only from AUA campus LAN and not from outside the university.
